Dress Up and Get Down!

Wear a costume to the store on Monday and receive a discount on your total purchase! (An actual costume, and not a t-shirt posing as one...)

Come see us all dressed up for the occasion as well. Special treats include a Monday afternoon Make 'n Take, free if you tell us you read about it on the blog.

The only question that remains: Shall I dress up the dog and have her visit the store?

Monday Make 'n Take

Time to start a new tradition at the Scraptique! Starting Halloween Monday, we will offer a make 'n take item for $1 from 3:30-5pm. Stop in and put our Quickutz into action, and take home a sweet card. Say "hi" to us and pass it on with this card. Mention that you saw this item on our blog, and we will waive the $1 charge!

A Salute to Our Favorite Gypsies, All 7 of Them

Our Memory Trends 7gypsies order arrived today, at least the stuff that is not back-ordered. We have clipboard frames in all the colors and styles, new papers, new gaffer tape for binding your books, and loads of replenishments for our farmer's market area. We know that in coming months, it could become more difficult to find your favorite 7gypsies products, so our mission to you is to do our best to offer a healthy selection of their wonderful line. If you have specific embellishments or papers that you would like to see us carry, please let us know and we will try to fulfill all those requests.

Sometimes change can be painful. Other times it can be a time to renew and focus on other passions, and shine there. As the local scrapbook scene goes through some major shifting, we hope to support vendors like 7gypsies who provide unique and interesting products for your paper arts projects. We also wish those who are taking a walk down another lane the best of luck in their new (or renewed) journey. Thank you for the memory.

Ain't life grand?

A Dramatic Pause

New stuff in the store from Pressed Petals: metal frames, wordage, and shabby chic embellishments to add lots of drama to your pages. In sets for the holiday season, as well as baby, child, family, and faith trios, these unique scrap metal pieces are sure to be crowd pleasers.

Quick, hurry! QuicKutz...

More QuicKutz in the store, including the elusive reindeer of the 2005 season. This little cutie is just flying out of the stores (yes, the really bad pun is intended, sorry.) If you still need a tool, we have a few pink Squeezes on hand, but not sure how much longer those will be in stock either! Only one left of the office tab die set, and we are not sure that we will be placing another QK order before the end of the holiday season. For a terrific holiday gift, package a pink Squeeze in a QK tote, and throw in a QuickStik. Remember that ALL QK are always 30% off regular retail value, and your frequent shopper discount does not apply to QK purchases.

Avalanche of Creating Keepsakes Idea Books and Mags

It arrived today in a maelstrom of activity: tonnage of books from CK. Get your:
  • Groovy new Idea Book, Volume bazillion or so, with loads of nifty new layout ideas.
  • Journaling Handbook by Tracy White. It's been out for a while but if you have not yet picked one up, it is amazing. Really gets you on track to writing the stories to complement all those gorgeous layouts.
  • Rebecca Sower's latest. Again, not brand-spanking new, but if you get this plus the Tracy journaling book, tell 'em at the counter that it says on the blog that when you purchase Tracy's book, you can pick up Rebecca's for 1/2 price. You will not regret grabbing this pair of idea books.
  • Simple Scrapbooks 10 Things Cards: When you want to create something simple and sentimental, these $5.95 cards are just the ticket. So quick to complete, and there are a dozen themes available.
  • Simple Scrapbooks 2006 Planner: Are you kidding me that we are planning for '06? More than 1/2 the decade is gone? Well, this planner will get you through the year in style. Get inspired every day with this simple and accessible calendar.

Bazzill Wings

OK, I admit that I am not sure what Bazzill wants with wings. It just keeps reminding me of that "feminine product" commercial from back in the day. "It's got wings!" OK, right. But the Bazzill stuff (wings or no) is awesome. Big brads, big boshers, lotsa colors, lotsa ways to fab up a layout. Apparently, size does matter.

Also from Bazzill, although wingedless at this stage, metal monograms. Spell out any old thing in your choice of rectangular or round pewter metal tags. Can't wait to paint, ink, sand, and otherwise alter the danged things. I guess I could add my own wings...

A Little Squeeze

With apologies to Difford and Tilbrook...

I bought a toothbrush, some toothpaste
A flannel for my face
Pyjamas, a hairbrush
New shoes and a case
I said to my reflection
Let's get out of this place
Past the church and the steeple
The laundry on the hill
Billboards and the buildings
Memories of it still
Keep calling and calling
But forget it all
I know i will

Tempted by the {SQUEEZE} of another {COLOR}
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone {PINK}
There's no other
Tempted by the {SQUEEZE} of another {COLOR}
Tempted but the truth is discovered

I'm at the car park,
the airport
The baggage carousel
The people keep on crowding
I'm wishing i was well
I said it's no occasion
It's no story i could tell

At my bedside empty pocket
A foot without a sock
Your body gets much closerI
fumble for the clock
Alarmed by the seduction
I wish that it would stop

I bought a novel, some perfume
A fortune all for you
But it's not my conscience
That hates to be untrue
I asked of my reflection
Tell me what is there to do

Tempted by the {SQUEEZE} of another {COLOR}
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone {PINK}
There's no other
Tempted by the {SQUEEZE} of another {COLOR}
Tempted but the truth is discovered

Will yours be BLACK, PINK, or (I think there are 7 left somewhere in the world!) GOLDEN?

Aren't you just a little tempted?

L'il Davis Makes an Appearance

Vintage Wood Signs, Words, Letters, and Embellishments arrived today from L'il Davis Designs. We chose words like: Love, Friends, Road Trip, and Baby, but the letters can obviously be used to spell most anything! The vintage word embellies are all assortments of stars, hearts, and flowers. Very vintage, and not just a little wooden, these will be scooped up quickly. Also in are chipboard alpha outlines, so you can choose one color as the inside and outline with another color. Pink and brown, anyone?
